WELCOME TO THE STICKS

ArtsZine and Hopscotch Films invite you and a guest to a free preview screening of Welcome To The Sticks - the most successful French film of all time - at Kino Cinemas, 45 Collins Street Melbourne, on Tuesday 26 August at 6.30pm.

This charming fish out of water farce follows the journey of a post office manager who is caught trying to cheat his way to a post on the sunny Riviera. He is punished by being sent to the Nord-Pas du Calais region of Northern France, a province routinely ridiculed by the rest of the country as being backward due to their unique local dialect, cooler climate and industrial background. But despite his initial prejudices, he soon finds himself charmed by the local’s unusual customs and warm hospitality.
