David Whittle

DIRECTOR

David Whittle was appointed to the Melbourne Festival Board in July 2010.

In November 2010, after seven years with M&C Saatchi, David was appointed Managing Director, Australia.

In June 2010 David launched Make, a team of digital craftspeople. Make acts as digital production utility to service all agencies within the M&C Saatchi Group, other agencies and clients directly.

In May 2010, David was appointed to the board of the Melbourne International Arts Festival, a government, corporate and consumer funded event that attracts over 500,000 people to experience outstanding local and global performances.

In May 2007 David launched Mark, combining the digital, direct and data marketing disciplines of M&C Saatchi. Mark is committed to developing infectious, indelible ideas that mark minds to elicit measurable behaviour.

Prior to the launch of Mark, David lead the growth of M&C Saatchi digital in Sydney and also established and managed the M&C Saatchi digital teams in Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Los Angeles and New York.

Before joining M&C Saatchi in August 2003, David grew and led a large team of digital marketers at BLUE Interactive for five years. In 2006 BLUE was acquired by Clemenger.

In 1999, during his time at BLUE, David and two partners founded Traffion. This JBWere-funded technology company provided web based marketing analytic tools. Traffion was acquired by Red Sheriff and later by Netratings (NASDAQ: NTRT).

He has successfully led Direct and Digital Agency of the Year teams, been recognised by his peers, winning Victorian Young Direct Marketer of the Year in 2004, in 2007 was the second youngest person included in the top 40 most influential people in the Australian Digital industry and in 2008 he was included in the Top 40 under 40 of the Australian Marketing industry.

David has a BA/BCOM from Deakin University with majors in Marketing, eCommerce, Public Relations and Sociology.
