Presented by Melbourne Festival in association with Philip and Caroline Cornish as part of A Tribute to John Landis
Join John Landis and programmer Richard Moore for a discussion of the director’s chequered career – from anarchic guerilla filmmaking, via the heights of blockbuster fame, to parting ways with Hollywood to pursue more independent projects.
With Landis famously candid about his experiences with risk-averse Hollywood studios, this promises to be an eye-opening experience for anyone with an interest in film.

This event is presented part of a series, curated by Richard Moore especially for Melbourne Festival. This special tribute to John Landis, a man who has created some of the most entertaining films of cinema history, features his well-loved classics, his genre gems and his documentary films, some of which screen for the first time in Australia.
With Landis himself in attendance to introduce many of the screenings, this is the perfect chance to rediscover – or to appreciate for the first time – the films of a cinema legend.
