Getting Around Melbourne

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Melbourne's public transport system offers comprehensive services extending from the CBD in all directions - helping you to soak up all the fun and frivolity of Melbourne Festival.
TRAINS, TRAMS & BUSES
Melbourne's public transport ticketing system is provided by two suppliers - Metlink and myki.
One ticket called a Metcard, gives you flexible travel between metropolitan trains, trams and buses. Metcards are read electronically by validating machines on trams, buses and at the entrance/exits to all train stations. Ensure you validate the ticket otherwise fines may apply. Metcards can be purchased onboard trams (these machines are coin operated only), buses, at train stations, most newsagents, magazine stands and convenience stores.
Metcard Ticket Types
City Saver Price: $2.90* Valid for a single trip within the city centre
Two Hour Price: $3.80* Allows unlimited travel for two hours
Daily Price: $7.00* Valid for unlimited travel for one day
